Compatible ink or toner - This is where a brand new toner or ink is manufactured by a manufacturer, other than the original brand holder (Such as HP or Canon) that is compatible and meets or surpasses the specifications of the original product.

Remanufactured Toner or Ink - This is where a used original toner or ink cartridge is disassembled under controlled factory enviroment, the parts are cleaned, refurbished and some (such as rollers and chips) are replaced and it is filled with ink to either meet or exceed the original specifications.

OEM toner or Ink - This is the original toner or ink directly from the original manufacturer such as HP or Canon.
